It will be blacked up to the gunwhales but primer only above that.

At 45 x 8.5 feet, how much paint will we need? How much will that cost? Answers, please, to anyone on the Contacts page!

Opening of Winchburgh Marina, Friday 3rd May 2024

We gratefully acknowledge photographers Gary Baker and Mike Wilkinson for the following images unless shown otherwise.

Assembling the flotilla at Bell's Mill Wharf where the special guests were embarked.

The flotilla approaches the new marina entrance.
Bridge 19-40 Chairman, Claudia, in the front seat of the lead vessel (as befits!)
Bridge 19-40 member, Alex Florence, crewing the second vessel.

Entering the marina. Again Claudia front and centre.

[photo : Allan Dungavel] Stewart Liddle and Alex Florence (cautiously) enter the marina.
Richard Miller, Chief Operating Officer, Scottish Canals, videos the emerging scene....

The eager crowds greet the flotilla.

[photo : Allan Dungavel] Excellent inter-Society cooperation - as LUCS boats were full of invited guests,
2 LUCS members (Maureen W. and John L.) were given a lift aboard Roseann.

[photo : Allan Dungavel] Chris Ludlow and Jim Boxall aboard "Milly".

Awww! Didn't she look well after the Society's volunteers had restored her?
The trapezoidal double-window at the front is known as a 'cratch' and a cratch-cover can be used to enclose the forward deck.
You either love these or hate them. Should our new boat have one?
You can send your vote to any of the email addresses on the 'Contacts' page. [big smiley face!]

Despite valiant efforts, the hull thickness and integrity checks indicated
that it was no longer safe to operate the vessel for the carrying of passengers.
