Due to the fact we have had to sell our passenger boat, Bluebell, we regret that we are unable to offer boat trips in 2024.
Fortunately, thanks to a successful Fundraising campaign, a new passenger carrying boat has been ordered. PLEASE SEE GALLERY

We can still be contacted by telephone, email or via our Facebook page or
please select the Contacts link above.

We are a non profit organisation (in fact a SCIO - Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) who will be offering trips on the Union canal between
Bridge 19 (Ratho) and Bridge 40 (Winchburgh)
We are one of the smallest and friendliest canal societies on the Scottish Lowland Canals, run solely by volunteers and supported by donations and income from events and boat trips.

Our Society takes its name from the section of the Union Canal in West Lothian upon which it operates.
This lies between Bridge 19, the first bridge in West Lothian, just east of the M8 after the Linn's Mill Aqueduct, and Bridge 40 which is just west of Philpstoun.

The Society's name was also meant to convey its role as a bridge between several local communities along the Union Canal.

We own two boats: a 45 foot boat which is under construction and will be used to offer different types of trips, and charters, to take part in community events and to maintain a presence along our stretch of the canal;
a smaller boat, Roseann, which is used for doing litter picking and cutting down overgrown foliage.
In the meanwhile give us a wave if you see us on the canal.

Through use of our boats we aim to encourage the people living in the communities along the canal to take an interest in the canal and help maintain it as a pleasant amenity for boating, walking, cycling or fishing.

We aim to make all our activities as inclusive and cost-effective as possible and are always pleased
to welcome new volunteers. Yes, yes, but what do we DO? Please click on the Join us link below where (almost) all will be revealed.

Please follow us on facebook for updates on the current situation and canal news in general.
